Well, this was…certainly unexpected. The Zac Brown Band have been, up to this point, almost exclusively a neo-traditionalist Country band. But here they are, teaming up with the frontman of legendary Grunge band Soundgarden on a track that sounds far more like his usual material than theirs. It’s certainly an interesting experience, though, and the Zac Brown Band are by no means bad at playing Grunge-Metal. In fact, their out-of-nowhere genre experiment here is much more successful than the similar one recently attempted by another famous acoustic act, Mumford and Sons, so while it still seems like an exceptionally weird choice, I really can’t complain.
